Andris Jász & Márk Horváth will be performing on Saturday, October 21, 2023, starting at 8 pm.
These two artists have harbored a longstanding fascination with the concept of melding diverse styles of film music into a cohesive performance. In their debut show, which premiered in spring 2015, they invite the audience on a captivating journey through iconic melodies, from the haunting tones of ‘The Godfather’ to the memorable melody of ‘Pulp Fiction.’ The guitar solo from ‘Desperado’ springs to life, as do the infectious swing rhythms of ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley.’ All film enthusiasts are warmly welcomed.
András Jász graduated from the jazz saxophone program at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. He embarked on his saxophone journey at the age of 15, and his enduring passion for the instrument has consistently pushed the boundaries of genre. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Juli Fábián, Attila Kökény, Barna Pély, as well as electronic music DJs Zoohacker and Andrew J.
Márk Horváth has been one of the most versatile guitarists of our time, boasting nearly 30 years of musical prowess. Over this span, his music has graced stages at numerous festivals and concerts both in Hungary and abroad, solidifying his position as an integral figure in the Hungarian music scene. Collaborating with artists such as Bálint Gájer, Betty Balássy, Tóth Vera Akusztik, András Hajós, Frankie Lato, András Jász, Juli Horányi, and more, he has demonstrated his adaptability in various genres including Latin jazz, Django swing, and world music. Notably, he has shared the stage with acclaimed Hungarian and international musicians, including Hollywood-Hungarian composer Bálint Sapszon, with whom he embarked on an American tour. Horváth’s Harmónia Garden Swing à la Django project has graced the stage at MÜPA, contributing to his rich musical legacy.
